WWII Silk Map two sided Chart No 43-C 43-D Aviator Map Germany Belgium France

WWII Silk Map two sided Chart No 43-C 43-D Aviator Map Germany Belgium France. British made topographical silk escape map of Western Europe. Really neat piece of history. Looks to be in very good condition with the exception of a small tear at the outside border area just above the 53 parallel. An original World War II era double sided escape map, produced by British MI9 in 1940s, this map is printed in four colors onto silk. These maps were issued to pilots and aircrews serving in the Allied Air Forces Corps throughout the course of the war and prior to D-day. Genuine original escape map in very good condition. These maps were made of durable silk so they could be folded and carried in the soldier’s pocket. Creases need to be steamed before framing. Superb WWll era double sided color map features multiple European countries. Scale 1:1,000,000 both sides. Map Sheet 43C illustrates: HOLLAND, BELGIUM (except West Coast), FRANCE (North East), GERMANY (West and Central); Map Sheet 43E illustrates: GERMANY (North), PROCTECTORATE (Bohemia and Moravia), SLOVAKIA, POLAND, HUNGARY (North). WWII 1944 ANTIQUE COLORED British Mission MAP FRANCE (VANNES)

Up for sale is a great, COLORED, ANTIQUE – BRITISH MISSION – folding map, titled “FRANCE – VANNES”. First (PROOF) Edition June 1944. Photolithographed and Printed by O. Compiled by 660th Engrs. Army, 1944 from aerial photographs utilizing Multiplex aero-projectors and control provided by existing French triangulation. Photography by USAAF & RAF, 1943 – 1944. It is blank on the reverse side. It is a very detailed map, measuring. Approximately 24 x 19 1/2 inches, including the border area. Several folds within the map. Maps this early and showing this much detail are a great piece of history! The map has very nice coloring to it. Map is generally in Good- condition. There is some light age related browning and toning to the map. The map has some nicks and chips around the edges. There are several colored stains on the map. Creases in the corners. This old, historic map would be a great addition to any collection! Please see my store for other great items. WWII BRITISH/US MAP FRANCE LORIENT War Office 1943

Up for sale is a COLORED, ANTIQUE folding British/US map, titled “FRANCE – LORIENT”. Published by War Office, 1943. It is blank on the reverse side. The map shows roads, paths, railways, churches, cemeteries, windmills, quarries, rivers, ferries, and much more. It is a very detailed map, measuring. Approximately 29 1/2 x 22 inches, including the border area. Several folds within the map. Maps this early and showing this much detail are a great piece of history! Map is generally in Good condition. There is some light age related browning and toning to the map. The map has some nicks and chips around the edges. Some crinkles along the fold lines. Creases in the corners. A few other stains here and there. There is a hole in the bottom right hand corner of the map – just under the dotted line. A horizontal tear that extends into the map from the left edge border. This old, historic map would be a great addition to any collection! Please see my store for other great items.
