Very old map of Sarreguemines, France. Sarreguemines was originally a Roman settlement. Map is in 8 parts carefully re-constructed and glued to a white fabric to preserve it. It may have torn at the fold lines but it has been painstakingly repaired. Map is dated 1833 and in great condition for its age, 24×33. Very old Latin PROVENCE FRANCE map great color and images MARE GALLICUM Roman

EARLY 1600′s map of Roman Gaul around Provence. Absolutely outstanding original makes great display with it’s hand colored bold reds. Total size including frame: 8.75 x 7.25 inches. This is a very large engraved and coloured map, dissected and laid on linen with marbled paper backing sections, in its original slipcase. Very good condition, one corner crease, otherwise perfect. Some rubbing to the slipcase. The map is very large, 124cm tall by 136cm wide unfolded (49 inches by 53.5 inches). The map shows the railways, and the surrounding countries, including Prussia. 1870 was, of course, the year of the Franco-Prussian War. In slipcase, the map measures 25x18x2cm. The map is on hand laid paper and. Is greatly enhanced with hand coloring. It measures approximately 21″ x 16″, including the 1 3/4 border area. It is not matted or framed. The map is in Very Good Condition. There is some age related browning, spotting and staining, but most of this would cover up very nicely when matted and framed. There are a few nicks and chips along the edges, as well. There are creases in the corners and a water spot along the right border. Other dings here and there.
