Large Antique Map of Genesee County, New York 1912. Wow, what a nice map of Genessee County, New York. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself! Map was done by Rand McNally. Has the year of 1912 inked on it in two places. Map is on a heavy paper with some sort of finish on the back to allow more use. The largest town on the map is Batavia, Also covers LeRoy, Stafford, Darien, Byron, Bethany, Bergen, Pembroke, Pavilion and others. The map is 49″ across, by 40″ tall when unfolded. Some staining on the back, especially behind the left top corner of the map. Does not show to the front. Nice coloring and detail. Shows many of the property owners as of that time. Decorative World War I map of Europe with military uniforms and up-to-date borders. Nuevo Mapa de Europa Politico y Comercial Illustrado con los Tipos y Uniformes Militares de los Estados de Europa. This wonderful, large-format folding map was published at the outset of World War I. Besides depicting the latest European borders, it is most notable for a series of finely-illustrated vignettes along the top and sides. The vignettes along the sides each show an officer and a soldier in military dress from different European countries. The poses and backgrounds are all different and each is executed with fine composition. The series of vignettes along the top of the map focus on Spain, offering a detailed presentation of various ranks and uniforms. Interestingly, Spain remained neutral throughout the war. Flags and population figures are displayed. An inset map at bottom depicts Egypt and the critically important Suez Canal. Though the map is in Spanish, it was published in Paris by. Gadola, a geographic institute and publisher located at 57, Rue de Rennes. Condition is very good. Folding map on original linen. Minor wear and blemishes, including two spots at the lower folds. A large-format 1843 post-road and transportation map of the German Confederation. This is a decorative, large-format transportation map of the German Confederation. More than a simple map of the territory, it offers a variety of interesting features, including small engraved railway scenes in the upper corners and steamship scenes in the lower corners. Additionally, important post-road routes are highlighted throughout the map. The German Confederation was an association of thirty-nine German-speaking states in Central Europe, created by the Congress of Vienna in 1815 to coordinate the economies of separate German-speaking countries and to replace the former Holy Roman Empire, which had been dissolved in 1806. Piloty & Loehle were lithographic printers and publishers, operating in Munich in the mid-19th century. Condition is very good. Scattered foxing and minor soiling.
