1826, Genuine GEORGIAN FOLDING MAP of CENTRAL EUROPE, Whittle & Laurie

1826, Genuine GEORGIAN FOLDING MAP of CENTRAL EUROPE, Whittle & Laurie. A super Regency “Grand Tour” dissected paper-on-cloth map of Central Europe dated 1826, published by Whittle & Laurie, Fleet St, London 1823 is printed at the bottom, but 1826 at the top! The title on the sleeve explains that the states/countries are divided according to the treaties of 1815 and 1816. Each border is tinted in colour. Bottom left on the map there are scales measured in various countries distances:’French myriametres’,’French leagues’,’German miles’,’Italian miles’,’English miles’,’Spanish leagues’. Original cardboard slip-in sleeve. In very good condition; it has grubby marks, but the details are still clearly legible. The cloth backing has holes at the intersection of the folds, but this does not affect the paper map. Dirty marks visible on the folds on the back, plus one or two foxing spots. The protective sleeve has paper loss. Please supersize the photos to see better. Approx: 25″ x 32″ (635mm x 812mm). I ALSO HAVE A LARGER SCALE 1835 MAP OF EUROPE CURRENTLY LISTED. POST & PACKAGING. 1835 Genuine GEORGIAN FOLDING MAP of EUROPE by Dufour in FRENCH – Large/ Cloth. A very large French Regency “Grand Tour” dissected paper-on-cloth map of Europe dated 1835 by Dufour and published by. Rue de la Paix, Paris. Each border is tinted in colour. Various tables around the map which are printed in French : A list of principle towns and cities; A table of distances between major cities of Europe; a small key to the map; A list of the states within Germany; Scales of distances of the key countries unit of measure – miles or leagues. Original cardboard slip-in sleeve. Ink annotation on the back of a previous owner dated 1844. In very good condition; it has grubby marks, but the details are still clearly legible. The cloth backing has wear around the edges one or two holes at the intersection of the folds, but this does not affect the paper map. Short tear of the cloth at one fold. The protective sleeve has tears to the cloth edging and corners. Please supersize the photos to see better. Approx: 37″ x 50″ (940mm x 1270mm).
