The image below shows an enlarged cross section from the centre of the map to show the level of printed detail. The appellation of Pouilly-Fuissé is shown in yellow, and the appellations of Pouilly-Loché & Pouilly-Vinzelles are shown in pale green. The communes of Vergisson, Solutre-Pouilly, Pouilly, Fuissé, Chaintre, Loché and Vinzelles are marked. IMAGE SIZE: Approx 28.0 x 23.0cm, 11 x 9 inches (Large). PARIS INVALIDES 1714 FRANCE by NICOLAS DE FER ANTIQUE VIEW 18TH CENTURY

Title of the view. COUPE DE L’EGLISE ROYALE DES INVALIDES. A PARIS Chez le Sr de Fer 1714. From L’Atlas Curieux ou le Monde représente dans des Cartes Générales et particulières du Ciel et de la terre Divisée tant en ses quatre Principales Parties que par Estats et provinces… De Fer, Géografe de Monseigneur le Dauphin… Dédié à Nos seigneurs les Enfants de France… A Paris chez l’auteur dans l’Isle du Palais, 1714. His earliest wellknown map of the canal de Languedoc, realised in 1669. De Fer has created this map when he was in service of the King of France Louis XIV. In 1697, he published his first world atlas. In 1695, De Fer, with several other notable French mapmakers, became founding contributors to the French Bureau of Maps and Plans. This bureau, created to deal with the technical and strategic problems of overseas commerce and exploration, was part of the Royal Academy of Sciences and Ministry of the Navy and Colonies. Paris Eiffel Tower 1889 Antique View Exposition Universelle 19th Century

Title of the view. “LE PALAIS DES PRODUITS ALIMENTAIRES”. Antique view of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. For the Exposition Universelle of 1889 in Paris, with the palace of exposition of foods. The Exposition Universelle was a world’s fair held in Paris, from 5 May to 31 October 1889. It was the fourth of eight expositions held in the city between 1855 and 1937. It attracted more than thirty-two millions visitors. The most famous structure created for the Exposition, and still remaining, is the Eiffel Tower, 312 metres high, realised by Gustave Eiffel. The Eiffel Tower was inaugurated on March 31, 1889, after two years, two months and five days of construction. Its ascent is open to the public from the following 15 May. Until the end of the Exposition Universelle on November 6, the Eiffel Tower welcomed two million visitors. It was a huge success. At the time of the Exhibition, France had a gigantic colonial empire, ten time larger than metropolitan France. Architects built individual pavilions for each colony. Tour De France 1959 Map On Original Metal Plate

Vintage Tour de France map on a metal plate realised for the edition of 1959 of the event. Riders started in Mulhouse on June 25, and maked their tour through Metz, Namur, Roubaix, Rouen, Rennes, Nantes, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Bayonne, Bagneres-de-Bigorre, St Gaudens, Albi, Aurillac, Clermont-Ferrand, St Etienne, Grenoble, Aoste-St-Vincent, Annecy, Chalon-sur-Saone, Dijon, and Paris the arrival on the Champs-Elysées. The date of each state are written, the cities stages and the cities rest. The mountains passes are indicated. This plate has been realised for the advertising of the alcohol Dauré. PLAN DE PARIS 1739 by TURGOT & BRETEZ LARGE ANTIQUE PLAN NUMBER 13 1st EDITION

“Plan de Paris commencé l’an 1734″ by Michel-Etienne Turgot and Louis Bretez, 1739, 1st edition, named PLAN DE TURGOT. Large copper engraved plate, plan NUMBER 13 (the number is written at the lower right corner in the margin), with the Royal papermark (filigrane). Représentation of a part of the 9th and 10th arrondissement of Paris (actually) with Hopital St Louis, Saint Lazare, Porte Saint Martin, rue du Fbg St Denis, rue du Fbg Saint Martin, rue des Vinaigriers… This map belongs to the most famous Plan of Paris, in 20 different parts, numbered from 1 to 20. This order was entrusted to the geographer Louis Bretez, who began the plan in 1734 and finished it in 1739. Paris is represented house by house, in panoramic view known as “cavalier perspective” on a scale of about 1/400. The Plan presents all the monuments of the capital and even the design of the gardens since Louis Bretez had obtained from the City Office a visit warrant for all monuments of Paris. Its rapid execution has allowed to give a homogeneous image of Paris. What Turgot wanted was not a plan to fix the alignments of the streets, but an image of his city, beautiful and talking. It is the the most beautiful and faithful representation of Paris of the Ancient regime. An invaluable document for the history of Parisian architecture.
