Gorgeous hand painted map of Mount St. Michel, bordered by small narrated pictures depicting the legends/history and development of the island and castle. Assumed to be a vintage reproduction of an antique map possibly by Baun and Hogenberg originally published in the late 1500s. Map is hand painted beautifully but guessed to be made between 1900 and 1940 because the condition seems a little too good for being authentic to the 1500s or 1600s. Beautifully aged paper, vibrant colors, Very Good condition with only a minor fold that doesnt touch the image and a tiny spot stain in the border. Approximately 16 1/8 x 13.
