Offered for sale is this very rare French Gourmet Cooking Book titled, COURS GASTRONOMIQUE, ou LES DINERS DE MANANT-VILLE, OUVRAGE ANECDOTIQUE, PHILOSOPHIQUE et LITTERAIRE with an 1809 title page date and stated SECONDE EDITION on the title page also. It is a very rare French Gourmet Cook Book full of recipes from a long time ago! It still has its original fold out French illustrative map in the front although it does have some damage as the pictures show. It was published out of Paris by Imprimerie de Brasseur Aine and measures about 8″ by 5 1/4″ with 364 pages. The overall condition is fair, good considering the 200+ years of age. There is wear on the edges of the leather hardcovers and some insect damage also although the pages are still very good, pliable, and very readable. The pages are still tight but do have some foxing and staining from age. French Cookbooks that are over 200 years old can be a rare find and this would make a great addition to any serious collection. Thank you for looking!
