LOVELY EXAMPLE OF THIS HIGHLY DECORATIVE MAP. ZATTA Antonio, Italian cartographer, fl. Li governi del Limosin, Quercy, e Perigord di nuova projexione’ – a fine original hand-coloured map of the south-western French provinces of Limosin, Quercy and Perigold, with beautiful engraved cartouche of a farm, from Zatta’s atlas Atlante Novissimo , 1779-84. Copper engraved atlas map with original hand-colouring. Cartographer/printing details within decorative engraved cartouche in bottom left corner. Numbered in top right corner C. Thick laid and watermarked paper. Light central fold as usual. Size: (plate) 40.5cm x 31.2cm / (whole sheet) 52.3cm x 38.5cm. Very light age-toning to paper. A couple of small stains verso, not visible on the map side. Please ask if you require a more detailed condition report, or view gallery images.
