Description: This old antique engraved map originates from a rare 2 volume Hondius / Janssonius Atlas:’Atlas, das ist, Abbildung der Gantzen Welt…. , published in 1636 in Amsterdam containing maps by Gerard Mercator, Jodocus and Hendricus Hondius and Johannes Janssonius. (ref: Koeman 1:322). This Atlas contains maps by Mercator, Hondius and early Janssonius edition maps. We carry most maps from the 2nd volume: France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Mid-East, Asia and America. One can find many references in online literature to these famous icons of cartography. This beautiful map was engraved by Abraham Goos. This maps shows the cities of Vienne, Valance, Grenoble and others. Condition: Fine; general age related toning; some light staining in margins; original middle fold; Small tear near top middle fold, barely visible and backed by acid free tape; Nice map in fine condition!
